Did you know that less than 4% of Christians have a Biblical Worldview according to a recent study? That's one out of every ten Christians!!!! Why is this happening? We have to stop kidding ourselves and we have to come to terms that these young people were probably never saved in the first place for starters (aka false converts). About 60-75% of young "Christians" are leaving churches and are not coming back at all. We have to address the "why" factor. Why are they, young "Christians", leaving the church? Some pastors that I know would say that the real reason why these young people are leaving churches today because they have some excuse like using "science" or "hypocrisy" as a cover-up for a deeper sin and therefore that's why they are leaving. They simply don't want to face their problem. From my years of experience from being in ministry, it may be true that "science" and "hypocrisy" has a part to play in it, but I think the real reasons are that the church have heavily compromised on sola scripture and on biblical authority, fathers neglecting in their duties in training up the next generation (Deut. 6) , and again, many of these young "Christians" were probably never saved in the first place, and instead of influencing the culture, the church has become increasingly more secularized due to the culture infiltrating the church and in most situations young people left the church due to hypocrisy and no real change among the body of believers within it. Also, many of these young people have serious questions that they are seeking and the church is either unprepared or have no answers in some cases . In reality, the church has left the next generation due to compromising. The church has lost both it's light and salt (Matt. 5:14-16). So, what's the typical response from the church? More programs for everyone, bigger budget, drastic changes in order to keep people from leaving, etc.... What We really need is a new reformation that takes place not only in this country, but also in the church and in families today: 2 Chronicles 7:14 (ESV) "if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land."
